My Sugar Baby

Five years ago on a fishing trip to Belize I met a female reporter. She was typical, interrogating, opinionated, too far to the left for my taste. And judgmental and accusatory. Out of some sense of frustration I made a derogatory observation on women trying hard to be men. I went so far as to ask her if she was was a macho lesbian. No answer, I had hit a nerve.

I ran into her again a couple of days later at a bar restaurant. She came to my table, this time her hair was washed, her fingernails clean and trimmed, her clothes a tad more feminine. She went straight to the point, yes she had a thing for certain types, but she could dance with me if I was man enough for her.

The challenge sounded false, like pushing it further than she was comfortable. I told her, didn't ask, to order something to eat. We talked about her 'career', free lancing human interest, she was investigating how lesbians and gays were treated in Belize. She was a middle class girl with a chip on her shoulder, angry at the unfairness of life. I fought the urge to parent, I asked her if she had given it to a man before, or if she was offering her flower to me.

Back in my hotel room she was nervous, breathing hard at being put on display, she was young, she was thin, her breasts small, her hips more a boy than a woman, nice ass cheeks. Opening her felt wrong, I asked her if she was sure, no going back. Her head said yes her eyes said no. I went slow, easy in, inch by inch, until I was in. She shook her head yes when I asked if she was ready for the fuck.

After leaving my calling card in her, I held her until her breathing was back to normal. I gave her the talk, 'me Tarzan, you Jane', understood? I decided to keep her overnight, kicking her out would destroy her.

She's working on a podcast, about her struggles with 'identity'. Her 'attachment' to her 'Daddy'. I encouraged her to work with a therapist, her angers are mostly gone. Being a young woman, living with her 'Daddy', her social network includes mostly younger lesbians lost in the city. I give her an allowance that she uses to help the girls, some need lots of help.

Only her I remind her, only her will I support. Don't bring a lost girl home. Cuddle up, sleep tight. Daddy's got you.
