I do not hate my neighboors. We moved into a nice neighborhood. The problem?the people have drive ways and park their cars in the streets. They have room in their driveway.I could see why they do this if there is no room but there is.This morning a cat was parked about a foot away from a stop sign.

How do you park a cat? Do they stay where you park them?

The problem is the road then becomes a one way just about, with cars parked on both sides and two cars going down the road in opposites direction-it is a pain in the ass the other reason it is annoying is because they have room to park in their driveway that is what a driveway is for.Yes I am annoyed and lets face it there are more serious problems in the world.Let courtsey start at home. You know what I mean?

Where I live, you can only park a car on the street for 72 hours. Then you get a ticket for $42. If you don't move the car in 24 hours they come and tow it away. The owner pays towing, the parking fine and impound fees.
We park our cars on the street because there's plenty of room. Our family consists of 5 grown adults that all work and need a vehicle. Needless to say, only one car fits in the garage and two on the driveway. The other two are parked in the street. Our neighbor doesn't like this and has called the parking gestapo on us several dozen times although our cars are never parked more than about 12 hours. The parking gestapo got tired of coming out but wanted to show something for all their efforts, so they ticketed one of the cars without due cause. The neighbor thinks cars block the view of her house which she thinks is the most beautiful house in the world. She also "sees" boogeymen.
Other people I know park their cars on the street so their kids can play basketball or skate on the driveway where it's safer than in the street.
In your case, there is a traffic problem and it's difficult for people to drive through the mass of cars. I agree that courtesy starts at home. Perhaps you could ask one neighbor at a time politely if they could park in the driveway. Tell them that you almost scraped their car driving past (or whatever). Maybe they just never thought it impacted anyone. Good luck.
