okay. i finally had it. i spent the damn weekend listening to my new neighbor's boosted up speakers. not his music, mind you, just his THUMP THUMP THUMP. have you ever been in traffic, and a beat monkey pulls up next door, with the bass so loud it rattles your windows? well, this is who moved in next door.

i took off work early (today is monday), went to the office and raised hell. I went mental on those bitches. i told them to let me out of the flippin lease, and i'd be gone. otherwise, they better get to gettin on it.

now i'm sitting back waiting for the f***** to muck up my car. - if he does, it was worth it.

sign, 'nuff woofer

Have the management come to your home and listen to what it is that you have to put up with all the time. Perhaps the person who is doing it doesn't realize how bad it sounds coming through the walls and vibrating your teeth. I would bet that the management would rather keep YOU than the one who is making the noise. In fact, you could even invite the noise maker to come see for him/herself.
Check the laws in your area. Many or most require that you are allowed the peaceful use of your home. In fact, the management might be persuaded to reimburse the money on the days that you have had to put up with the noise, but probably limited to those AFTER your complaint.
I think you have the law on your side. If you're diplomatic, I would bet that you will get your way.
Good luck!

"If you're diplomatic, I would bet that you will get your way."

Not likely. The one making the noise will insist that it's their right to do as they please in their house. The landlords won't try to evict them because kicking people out into the streets in near impossible.

As soon as the complainer complains, the noisemaker gets worse, everyone else blames them for starting the trouble ("It used to be better beofre you complained"), etc.

Call the police. Once a few disturbing the peace charges have been filed, the landlords will have to take notice.

Even if you complain a million times nothing will happen, get some woofers and beat your neighbour (yes UK) at their own game or secretly get to them like I plan to get to mine.

I had a similar situation with a neighbor(I rent as well)only this was 2 giant barking dogs and not a stereo.
Call the police every, and I mean EVERY time your neighbor disturbs you with noise.Don't retaliate by making noise of your own because there are noise ordinances(even if they are loosely enforced, they do exist)and you are going to need to find out what these ordinances are.Have knowledge on your side.
Get the business card of the responding police officer and call him or her every time your neighbor disturbs you.Eventually they will get tired of it and do something.
Notify your landlord of what you are doing and let them also know you are keeping a log of every disturbance and that you plan on calling the police every time your neighbor disturbs you.
My neighbor was eventually evicted...not just for disturbing me but for disturbing the entire building.Be persistant and you will win against this idiot.Good luck.
