Thank God I only have neighbors that live to one side of me. You can hear everything that goes on anyway since the walls are so thin, but they are so OBNOXIOUS. They are a young couple in their early twenties, she has one screaming (non-stop) 2 year old brat of her own, and a newly spawned screamer that belongs to them both. A huge screen TV which he plays his aching video games on at full blast. I'd be thankful to hear loud music, because the hours of listening to the same tune of a video game is enough to drive a sane person psychotic. They also do something over there that sounds like a blender with an amplifier attached to it running forever! Pounding on the wall with hammers. And letting the brats pound on the sliding glass doors until they presumably drop from exhaustion. Then when they get bored with these lovely activities....they take their screaming, fighting, moronic asses outside to finish up annoying the piss out of me. They usually do this directly under my bedroom window. Although I have to sleep on the couch in my living room now because of them constantly waking me up at 3 am because they cannot wait until a decent hour to start the day's screaming ritual. They have also been lovely enough to "sit" for friends dogs ( dogs aren't allowed here) and left the apartment so that the f***ing dog barks for hours. These are just a few of the lovely reasons why I HATE my f***ing neighbors. Thanks for letting me rant here....appreciate it.

Well you can always move as it sounds like your in a rental unit. You can also talk to them and if that don't work complain to management or file police noise report. Another posibility would be to soundproof the wall between you and them with materials made just for that such as sheets of foam or cork and if this happens to be a condo that you own, get an insulation company to fill the wall with blown insulation, or ad new studs, more insulation, the another layer of sheetrock. Been there in your shoes at one time myself; sold the place and bought a house in a small town with a tough noise ordance and almost no crime so the cops are usually bored and will take big issue with noise makers.
