My downstairs neighbor is a total hillbilly freak. She has been out of work for months. All she does is sit at home, watching tv loudly, smoking cigarettes and fighting with her fat boyfriend. She has three huge dogs that she never takes out, and she smells up my apartment with their urine and the foulest smelling meat smell I have ever encountered. When her and tubby fight, she yells in her southern accent, "Fuck-you, I-hate-you, get-the-fuck-out!" She tries to come off like a total badass, so no one will approach her about this crap. We had to go knock on her door to let her know that her smoke comes up into our apartment and makes us sick - just so maybe she could open a window, get an odorless ashtray ( if she said she would use one, I would have bought it for her ), or god forbid - go outside to smoke. No one else in the buidling smokes, and my landlord said it wasn't allowed. Of course, I went back and looked at the lease and it's not in writing. Anyway, now she is being a total asshole for telling her "what to do in her own home". She is nasty, has horrible acne-scarred skin, a voice that could wake the dead, and even asshole dogs. Since she is always home, her boyfriend never uses a key, instead he rings all the buzzers in the buidling until she or someone else lets him in. She even said very loudly out in the hallway, that people were "fucking assholes" for not letting him in once. It was past 1:00am in the morning, and of course, all the dogs in the whole place were going crazy from her asshole voice and all of the doorbells ringing. This is my life every single day. Pot smoke, cigarette smoke, loud bad tv, loud bad music, her stupid mouth, his stupid mouth, repeat until you have to take valium and sleeping pills to drown out the freak carnival.

Before you go crazy on me for railing on her - she is only about 30 years old, has both arms and legs, and yes, she can legally work if she wanted to. And yes, I have been to my landlord, but he is totally useless. I have asthma, and seriously, the smoke is bad. Not to mention that they suck as neighbors even without the smoke. She has even written me a semi-threatening note. Any suggestions?
