no noise ordinanceout here
The rude a-holes are everywhere.
Maybe they are creating/maintaining a nuisance.
Maybe they are wrecklessly endangering someone or something.
Drinking underage perhaps?
In any event, you either ignore the problem or you go to the time and trouble of court proceedings and then repeat the process. It doesn't end till the backhoe is done.
Before I purchased my home I did some "homework." Suggest you move after doing the same. Never knew there were still places without a noise ordinance. They do have city hall meetings don't they? Perhaps there are others who would push for a law now.
well we are in a rural area with only five houses on 5 acre platts.
Our house was built first this idoit builds RIGHT NEXT to ours..not 100 feet in front or back. But right NEXT to us.And builds on this side of his property.!!
Go figure.
Re: 978 I bet the guy has Greek roots, they are all like that.
<I>"And builds on this side of the property"</I>
If, by this comment, you mean that someone has built on <I>your</I> property, and you have a surveyed property description to back you up, you probably have legal recourse to force this "neighbor" to remove his/her construction from your property.
If this structure cuts off your light to a garden or clothesline, if it adversely effects a formerly panoramic view, if it causes rain or snow or water drainage onto your property you probably have legal recourse.
Usually a call to an attorney can get you some free info - just a casual chit-chat with a legal aid doesnt cost anything and many attorneys offer a free initial consultation.
Often, you can find the proper forms at your local courthouse and the clerks are generally helpful to some extent. It can be time consuming and you might be out some up-front money if you decide to retain legal counsel, but you can establish the formidable precedent in your 'hood that you are able & willing to take transgressors to task. Hit the bastards where it hurts, right in the wallet.
