These people have very clever entertaining commercials however they are liars and thieves.
They promised me a 0% interest and then changed it to 28% for no reason plus doubled my payments...again for no reason.
They told me it was because they saw that I bought a car and it red flagged my credit. That's BS.
I hate 'em

I'll bet it was not "for nothing" and I'm sure it was printed in the documents they sent you. Yes, it sucks and I agree that Capital One is worse than some of these guys. All credit companies are thieves, but since we keep coming back, they keep picking our pockets.

You can refinance pretty much anything. If you have good credit and you think you're being trated unfairly, shop around and refinance (or better yet, pay off) whatever it is you're paying 28% on.

Hey guys - they did the exact same thing to me.
They told me to take the balances from some of my other cards and move it over to them at 0% interest for - I think 6 or 8 months - then they cranked it up saying that I misunderstood the offer.
I asked the lady "would you move your balances over to a much higher interest rate?" She said that she was un able to answer that question. HA

cash advances on credit cards raise the a.p.r and also if you buy big before, during, short time after you have applied it will affect your interest rate, now just look into transfering your capitol one balance to a 0% interest card like chevy chase visa, discover etc for 1 or 2 years and pay above monthly payments for that time and you will be good and in the future know what to ask like what is the interest on the card or loan and what is it for cash advances, does it go up if i miss a payment and if they qoute you 5 or 9 % and they say plus the prime rate ask them what the prime rate is and add that to the 5-9 % to get the a.p.r it should be depending on your credit between 14- 22% if between take it pay monthly payments on time for a year and call them to lower the a.p.r if they dont tell them you will look elswhere and if they dont budge wait until another 0% interest deal comes along and transfer that balance good luck.
