Making The Best Of It
My husband had sex with me the first night he met me. It was embarrassing for me but not for him. I became pregnant, he tossed a coin in the air and asked me to call it, heads he'd marry me, tails he'd walk. We got married four months later in a church wedding in my hometown.
On my wedding day my best friend growing up, who was my maid of honor, was at my house. He came over. He knew she was my very best friend. He put the charm on and did what he does and he had sex with her on my childhood bed on my wedding day. I say this because I don't know what else to say, he never asked my permission. She was as unprepared as I was and had her baby nine months later.
I moved in with him and finished college, after sitting out for two years. She moved back in with her parents to have her baby and finished college a year later at the small Lutheran college nearby. My husband complained that she wasn't with him, he drove the fifty miles each way to go see her. She came to see us on weekends. After graduation my husband told me he needed her near him. He felt empty without her. One midnight he asked me to convince her to move close to us, and we would help with the finances.
After she moved, and we moved to a duplex so we would be next door, he told me that he was in love with her and hated it when she took her son to go home. I offered to give him a divorce but he said no. We saved some money and got a loan to buy the duplex. We knocked the wall down between the units and made one big joint house so she can be close by.
