I Wasn't A 'good' Girl Once Upon A Time

I was broke, helpless, lonely, homeless, 21. He said he would let me stay with him if I did the housework. For a month. I did a real bad job, he told me to leave. I broke down and cried so he let me stay another week. That was in March 1983.

I guess I do housework, if you call letting the maids in. I do cook, I'm a pretty good cook, he cleans up though. I had a couple of kids, they are 38 and 35 now, I have two grandkids. I went to college, worked after my kids were in elementary school, retired so we could travel. We got married in Las Vegas in 2019.

My life before he took me in we don't talk about, I was an escort in Las Vegas, that's how he met me, hooked on stuff he made me quit cold turkey. That's why I couldn't do any housework. I have nightmares, he holds me in a bear hug. Sure I'm ashamed. Back then I never thought I would take my granddaughter to get ice cream. I know I lucked out. I got clean, I live clean, every single day of my life I regret being a prostitute. Easy money for a girl from Cincinnati.

That's it really, I hope you have a good life too.

Done be ashamed of your past, it made you who you are today. If it weren’t for that you would have never met him. It’s your blessing in disguise. Live your life with a thankful heart. Love your family, most of all love him.

I'm glad that you're living a better life than the one you were living. Do you believe in fate and meeting hubby was destiny and purposeful?
