I know that this story may sound lame to some of you, but it was quite embarrassing for me.
A while ago, I was on my second day of a new job. One of my coworkers (who happened to be really attractive and incredibly cool) had asked me to get lunch at the company cafeteria together. When we got there, she said that actually she was going to bring the lunch back up to her desk. I was dying to eat lunch with her, and basically begged her to stay and eat with me, which I thought she wouldn't agree to, but she said sure, I'll eat with you for a minute.
So we sat down to eat together, and I immediately realized that I was insanely attracted to her and it made me nervous as hell. I also realized that I had brought a bagel for lunch, and it is kind of awkward to bite into a huge bagel in front of this girl you're hot for. Anyway, as I'm eating it, I suddenly take this huge bite, which does not fit in my mouth, and while I have a piece of bagel hanging out of my mouth that I'm trying to finish chewing, the girl gets up, leans across the table, and stares deep in my eyes, and says, "it's okay."
It's kind of hard to describe why that was so embarrassing, most people here are probably thinking what a weirdo. But for some reason, I was at the same time completely humiliated by the fact that she was staring at me with food hanging out of my mouth, and completely turned on by the fact that this hot girl was staring at me and saying something sweet at the same time.

That's because she' "COOL". I hate that word. So ask her for a date.

If you don't like it, what word would you use? And she was married for the record (but, by the way, I did try asking her for coffee, "as friends," which she said no to).
