I Just Got Lucky

I'm a so called DACA immigrant. I was born in Piedras Negras Mexico, across from Eagle Pass. My mother crossed over when I was a month old. I grew up along with my three sisters all born in the US. I went to work at a company owned by a man who offered to help me, marry him and I would get my legal papers. For the first two years I continued to live with my mother. There was no sex. He had a girlfriend. Then one night he showed up and demanded performance.

I was more ready than I thought, gave him what he wanted, and from then on he took advantage of me being his wife. After I got my temporary green card I moved in with him. Sex was once or twice a month, he still had his girlfriend. She lost patience with him, it was more and more obvious he wasn't going divorce me and he wasn't going to marry her.

Then it was just me, sex Monday to Sunday. One of those nights I realized I wasn't going anywhere. This was it, I was married. I transitioned into that role, much of it was taking responsibility for the bills, the house and other things. He let go of those things for me to manage and be responsible and he focused on the business.

I've been married six years, I have my US Citizenship and two kids. I get asked how I caught my husband. Luck.
