When I Lost My Job

About a year ago, I my job was consolidated and I had to find another income source. My husband has a good job, but we need my income. Being 24, I knew I would find something else.

One night my friend invited me out. She knew I was down a bit about my job and she felt like she could pick me up with a night out. I quickly realized the night wasn’t what it seemed.

She got me in the car and says ‘look, I lied to you. I need someone to attend a party with me, but it isn’t what you think. I am an escort on the side - as well as having my full time job. I was offered a lot of money for tonight but I needed to bring a friend. Before you say anything, hear me out. I am making 2000.00 just to show up and dance. Whatever else happens is extra.’ I was speechless. Utterly speechless. ‘Really?’ ‘Yes really!’

Needing the money, I went along and played the part of her friend. We split the 2000.00 and yes, I was asked to do other stuff. I cannot go into those details, but it was an extremely prosperous night….and I did it for the money.

I told my husband. He reacted as I hoped - supportive for reason I did it. He asked if I had plans to do it again and I said that we should talk about it. That was a year ago. We no longer live check to check and I work about 20 hours per week.
