Now We've Become Family
Please don't judge, everyone does. I was 22 in an office job, and the married supervisor knocked me up. I had a little girl. Financially things were pretty sketchy, he was paying the child support but I just couldn't make ends meet. He talked to his wife and she agreed to babysit for me until I could get my life back in order after the pregnancy and all the baby expenses. Going to her house every day, twice, once in the morning to drop my baby off and once in the evening to pick her up caused us to talk and one day she said she forgave me, she was still pissed at her husband though and she gave him the cold shoulder.
When my daughter turned one, she set everything up for a birthday party. Her kids were there, of course she and her husband, me and my daughter, and her parents. We sang Happy Birthday, took pictures, and we had cake and coffee, and for the kids Kool-Aid. I was helping her clean up, her mother was looking after my daughter and she told me it was time to start thinking of baby brother or sister. Don't make the mistake of having them too far apart. Eighteen months was the ideal separation and I was hitting the limit. She would talk to Frank and get things set up, 'let's have new baby by Christmas'.
Frank was out of the dog house by then, and she had quit being a refrigerator and while Frank went to work getting me number two, she went to work getting number three for herself. When we knew we were both pregnant she told me she didn't want me getting all the attention, this was a family thing and we were going to grow the family together. Having my daughter in the house told her that she wasn't done, she needed a baby for herself. Wanted it more than anything. And she wanted me to be there with her, to share our pregnancies together.
