Buying A Jockstrap??
Seriously we need a category just for moms!
My 13 year old son came to me a few days ago telling me he needs a jockstrap. To be honest I’ve never seen on in person and don’t know ant guy who’s worn one.
After looking at Walmart to start with I found they don’t sell any. I figured they would but nope. So as I was at my parents house Tuesday I decided I’d ask my dad about them. Probably one of the most awkward things I’ve asked about. I said hey dad where do you buy a jock strap and how do you size them.
Surprisingly my dad said I have a few that are probably 20 years old and a pair I purchased last year at dicks sporting goods. Never knew my dad wore a jockstrap but he said they are worn for support or to hold a cup. He said he wears a jockstrap when playing tennis or cricket so nothing flops around. Too much info! Lol
So off to dicks sporting goods I went yesterday. Found the jockstraps and bought the size I thought would fit. Just based that off my son’s waist size. But then when it came to buying a cup I was lost but my dad did say make sure you get it big enough so that all his junk is in the cup.
Once I get home I go to my sons room where he’s playing a video game and I awkwardly say take your pants and underwear off. He looks at me embarrassingly. Then I take the jockstrap out of the bag and say I need to see if it fits.
So there we are. Making sure the jockstraps fits to which it did. My son said it’s a bit snug and I said it’s supposed to be for support. Then I had him try on the jockstrap that had a cup pouch. Then I pulled the cup out of the box. I stuck it in his jockstrap asking if everything fit inside the cup comfortably. The first cup was too small so I tried the next size up. That one was perfect.
So then I had to explain to him that as he grows he’ll have to tell me so I can get bigger jockstraps and cups. Embarrassing for the both of us.
