A Man's Job Is To Protect Us
One of our coworkers was sexually assaulted in the parking garage. No idea who her attacker was, dark, from behind, with long sleeves, ski mask, dark glasses. A pro.
My boss hired security to walk us to our cars. cameras were installed but after a year nothing had happened. We started going in groups instead of waiting for security. my boss pulled me over and told me he wasn't going to let anything happen to me and started walking me to the car. He had a security company case my apartment and install deadbolts and cameras.
I was followed outside the mall and my purse was stollen in the parking garage. That was it, he called on je to quit, to move out of town to the suburbs. I went to live with him, playing home maker while he went to work and I stayed home. All pretenses of being his employee were gone, he took me to Las Vegas and married me.
One day several years later a man was caught and he was found guilty of several assaults, one was my coworker of those days when I worked downtown. All these years I resisted my then boss and his overprotective behavior. Not any more, a woman can't protect herself, it's the man's job to protect her. I'm glad I have a man who takes care of me. I don't complain any more.
