So Sorry

I cheated on my husband over the weekend.

I ran into a high school friend at the shopping outlets. It was raining so we sat down under one of the roofed parts and got caught up. Work, family, travel, etc. As the conversation progresses, he asks if I am married and I say ‘no.’ But I am, so I stumble in my words and say ‘yes.’ He asks again…yes or no? I am married I tell him, but I am not really happy.

Like 25 minutes later, the rain finally stops and he asks if I want to get something to eat. I agreed to join him.
Marriage came up again and he worked that angle until the discussion turned more sexual. I actually thought he came out at gay, but apparently not.

I am not sure how it happened so fast, but an hour later I was in his living room, naked and on his couch. In the moment, I felt free and uninhibited. Slutty, but happy. I was there about two hours and headed directly home when I found the text messages and missed calls from my husband and kids asking what was the plan for dinner.

I feel terrible that I did it. However, the feeling when I was doing it is what concerns me most. I have a good life and marriage, but this was a very freeing experience for me.

You just said you feel terrible that you did it. Don’t be deceived: adultery is pleasurable… for a season. Guilt will be there unless you harden your heart and shut off your emotions. Of course it’s fun. But divorce is miserable and your kids will suffer. Not worth the cost. Stop while ahead.

Disagree with #1. Unhappily married means exactly that. Seeking or stumbling across opportunities is an incredible pleasure. Only you can decide if the pleasure outweighs the guilt. And the fact you called it freeing says a lot. Do what you need to do. Just don't get caught.

It is a weird place to be. This man explored my body, unlike my husband. BUT, I do not blame my husband as we have been together for years and we have done our exploring of each other. My challenge here is this: I want more of this, as I responded positively to the notion of new sex (he was uncut and very long too, which is different). I love my husband, but sex has gotten bland and boring.

Ahh, the famous tried and tested recourse of the bored housewife; the marriage is stale and bland. At this point it's almost become a cliche. Woman bumps into old friend or stranger who lavishes attention on her giving her back her sense of validation, This thrills the woman and she entertains the idea of sleeping with said person. Inevitably this happens and she's ecstatic, she's electrified, she orgasms. As a bonus his member is larger than her husband's.

Yet there's something wrong fundamentally. You say you aren't happy but in the last sentence you say you have a good life and marriage.

You could've fixed your marriage by talking to your husband but instead you used an opportunity to wreck it completely. What will your children think of their mother?

Here's a bit of pop psychology for you Pam: bored, married women such as yourselves crave excitement yet don't consider sex as cheating because there are other factors at play. You and other women just happen to channel that frustration into the only form you know, through sex. You still love your husband, you will still have sex with him, but you crave something...else.

Wow! Fuck, that is raw and rough. I am completely conflicted and I get that reaction? Go fuck yourself you piece of shit, self orgasming, loser. Next time you make yourself cum, call yourself names including loser.

Sorry, Pam, some people are very blunt. But, the message is true. You love your husband and family; yet you also adore the thrill of cheating. It makes you feel alive and wanted. You feel sexy and desired. How long has it been since hubby has focused this much attention on you or made you feel this special? There is the rub. To gain this feeling you have to betray them. Have you discussed ramping things up with your husband? Talked about adding toys or other people? Maybe heading to a nearby city and check out a swing club? No?? Have you ever thought that hubby is equally as bored as you? This is why the comments are so savage. You've made it a only about you.

Anyone, male or female that uses the excuse of their sex life is boring as an excuse for cheating is full of it. You have a responsibility to yourself, your partner and your marriage to do whatever it takes to keep your sex life fresh. Yeah someone new is exciting and fresh. But you made a vow that you broke because you were bored? You and people like you deserve all the shit that's about to come your way. There is no excuse for cheating. You are simply an unethical person who's word is empty and meaningless.
What happens when the fresh excitement wears off with this old friend? Will you take to Tinder to find more fresh and exciting men to fuck? You don't love your husband or your kids because you are a self centered piece of shit.

Lots of shitty advise here for sure. It’s just sex it makes you feel good. You want more. You only live once. Could bring hubby into it. Your the only one that has to live with yourself.
