I am a 35 year old woman with 36DD breasts. I breastfed both my kids (now 18 and 16) for two years and quickly regained most of my breasts' firmness despite four years of almost constant milk production. My husband of 3 years has always been interested in nursing from me and suckles 2 to 3 times a week for 30-90 minutes depending on mood. I thought this would be enough to establish a milk supply, but no luck yet. So I'm considering buying an electric breast pump ($800) to help me out.

Has anyone out there tried this? Did it work?

hey,, once you stop breast feeding, the milk dries up, and you DO NOT PRODUCE ANYMORE UNTIL YOU GET PREGNANT AGAIN. Its a biological thing, caused by the hormones you produce. He can suck all he wants, but as hard as you try, you wont produce.. Try a baby bottle if you are into that.

That isn't true. Women relactate all the time --some accidentally when they take certain medications, some (in developing countries) because they must care for an infant whose own mother cannot breastfeed it. A hospital grade pump should do the trick, but it will take weeks of almost hourly pumping.

Jesus, is he that bored?
Let him knock you up again; then you'll have plenty of milk.
It sounds as though you both need something to do with your time anyway!

I agree with this last post. My daughter is now 8, since I had her my breast cup has trippled and still going it seems. I would never do anything to increse milk production much or less risk my breast getting any bigger than what they are now. You and your husband need to get a hobby.

Why are you still nursing your 8 year old? It seems like YOU need something better to do with your time!

yes it works, we adopted babies and the wife used a breast pump before hand to start producing milk.

cows need to be "freshened" as it is called to start milk production once they have dried up.
