My Math Teacher, And My Attempt To Date Her...
My high school teacher, whom for this post I will call Amanda, was my teacher in High School some years ago. Amanda was specifically our math teacher for most of high school.
Amanda was one of those sorts of teachers who a few guys fantasized about when school was out, had I sometimes heard such guys admiring her to. She is rather pretty, a bit large all-around, but pretty, and also the one of the nicer teachers.
Despite me being a girl, i found Amanda attractive as well, but i never spoke of it to anyone.
There was always a biased against gays and lesbians in my school, even those merely fantasizing... I knew due to a friend of mine, Kelly, having to be pulled from the school due to the bullying they received.
(I had been developing appreciation for women near the start of high school... the friend i mentioned, Kelly, had some magazines we both looked through. I was always quiet about it, but Kelly was a bit more... open about flirting with other girls her age, before beginning to be labeled a 'freak' in social circles. and no, never spoke of admiration for Amanda with her.)
Throughout the years in High School, I found my mind wandering in Amanda's class as i always glanced at her 'features' whenever i could. Barely passed the first couple of years due to this, until i managed to learn to keep my mind focused on school work... it was hell, though. I had to, if i didn't want to be held back. That, and i nearly got glancing at Amanda several times.
Fast forward sometime during summer while i was 16 (This was in 2017) while school was out, i had become curious where Amanda had lived, and what talking to her outside of school would be like, since i never had talked to her when she wasn't teaching class... It was something i wanted to find out, but i didn't want to act like a stalker...
Thankfully, i wouldn't need to work to figure out her home, as i happened on her watering her garden in front of a random house one day while i was out on a random walk... (Always seem like it's when you give up, that these things happen!)
First time i saw Amanda, I smiled and waved in greeting, and went on my way... but i started acting like a bit of a creep again, as i developed a habit of walking through her neighborhood somedays when i had to go out to get something from a store or elsewhere.
One day, i sort of just paused to chat with her when i saw her, acting worried about math class once summer was over and school was starting again, but she kindly reassured me i'd be fine as long as i didn't slack off...
I did approach her about 'math' a few other times throughout the season, asking for any tips about how to do better in school, etc...
I did eventually grow bolder as summer went on, sometimes stopping to make small talk, about her garden, her interests, local events and happenings, just saying hello, my hobbies, etc... She was less intimidating to approach, as i begun to comprehend teachers are people outside of school, too.
I figured Amanda was married and had a family for awhile, but it became apparent she was probably single, as i never saw any other cars, or saw anyone besides her entering or exiting that house.
I tested my luck one day, asking for advice in finding the right kind of boyfriend, which she had plenty of snippets of advice... yet, i only paid attention to the part where she said 'she hadn't dated in awhile.' somewhere in there, with no mention of herself having been married...
After that discussion, i walked away acting 'thankful', but my curiosity satisfied.
A few months later in the Fall, i had been at home alone for a night as my parents were away, and had taken advantage of the opportunity to baked up some cookies using a special recipe my mother had... Made a whole dozen, stuck them in a box, wrapped the box up, and put a ribbon on it, with a silly 'secret admirer' note on it, and a tulip, and went out to leave it on Amanda's porch in the middle of the night.
I thought it was a great idea at the time, but i was found out easily... and next time i spoke to Amanda a few days later, she brought up getting the g*ft, first acting clueless as to who 'gave her the cookies'... i thought i was undiscovered, but she pretty much said outright she recognized my handwriting... Which, in hindsight, i should have known would happen, since i'd been attending her class for so long, handing in handwritten answers to tests.
Amanda wasn't offended, but she gently let me down, and just encouraged me to find someone else.
She did, however, say she had been planning to quit teaching for a few years, saying she might become a florist. Once that happened, and i was 18, she'd reconsider...
Fast-forward a couple years, she does just that and had quit to become a florist, and she is replaced by someone else in class the rest of the year... eventually, graduation comes up.
I approached Amanda again after, and she said she's willing to try dating me now that it's legal. I write this, in excitement. Wish me luck...!!
