Pinch Me, I Still Can't Believe It's Me He Married

I took a part time job in the accounts payable department of a local company. My hope was to transition out of retail and use my recently obtained finance degree. My supervisor was a woman with ten years experience. I did what she told me, a lot seemed unnecessary, but I had to imitate her. Until one day by accident I talked to the CFO. He asked a lot if questions about my degree plan, and told me that he wanted me to learn three things from my term in AP. Learn the vendors. Learn the account codes. Learn the flow of cash. Then I would be sent to GL. No one had mentioned any of that to me.

He checked up on me, asked a thousand questions. Six months to the day the Controller promoted me to GL, full time with a real big raise. I was now a professional and not a clerk. I attended the monthly close meeting, the CFO insisted I give the report on the GL. In six months I was promoted to Senior Accountant, I was registered in the college to take Theory, Tax, and other courses to be able to sit for the CPA. The CFO told me he was betting on me, he needed me to get certified to become the Accounting Manager. In two more years I had completed my course work and was certified. I was 25, I was promoted to Accounting Manager with a full staff reporting to me.

The CFO tutored me, taught me, guided me, educated me. His target was three years to take on Strategic Management for him. I spent long hours with him, attended meetings, wrote up proposals, met the bankers, ran interference for him. There was no barrier with him, any topic was open, I told him things I didn't tell anyone. I knew things he didn't tell anyone. I was sleeping with him, he took me on holidays with him. And everyone noticed I was his favorite and his office lover.

One night, after love making, I was laying on him, straddling his hips, my hands on his chest, my jaw on my hands, he had me by my butt cheeks, and I told him about my father r****g me, I was eleven. I talked, cried in his arms, told him the full story. A secret I had never talked about with anyone. He listened, held me, let me talk, and basically accepted me, even if I was broken.

My life with him changed, like I walked in a door, and lived in his heart. And he lived in my heart. We no longer had sex, we made love, and I loved it. When my father shot himself several months later (a different trauma), I was free to give myself to him. I didn't go to the funeral, I stayed with him that day.

Today, seven years later, I have three kids, I'm his wife, I don't work outside the home. He turned sixty this year, an 'old' man. I never dreamt a girl like me would have this life, it's a dream and I don't want to wake up. The only person who resents me is the lady in AP who was angry I had been promoted.
