The Job I Never Put On My Resume

I worked hard, got promoted. I turned 35, I had bought a townhouse, heavily mortgaged. The economic environment shifted and my townhouse was under water. My savings were wiped out, my job ended when the company had to declare bankruptcy. I had no choice, I declared bankruptcy and moved to stay with my sister. I wasn't only broke, I was immobilized by depression and anxiety.

A friend of my sister's husband, who seemed to be doing well, gave me a job. His business was a sex toy and porn business. Much of it mail order but some point of purchase at adult book stores. He was expanding into video, those VCR tapes. That's how I got into the porn business.

I worked with both the producers and the distributors. I tracked what sold or rented. I learned that tapes that weren't rewound were the most popular. An important hidden market was housewives stuck at home. Big hunk men, small defenseless girls. Not quite r**e, but close to it. lesbians if both girls were young and beautiful. I worked with privately owned rental shops, keeping them supplied with fresh content. Blockbuster refused to participate.

For me porn became an obsession, pretty girls and monster men. I got ahold of real r**e content. Badly filmed, I masturbated until I was raw and couldn't masturbate any more. Until one day I walked away. Took a job as a bank cashier, it took me ten more years to get out of bankruptcy. At 45 I met a man, twelve years older, who needed a wife. I agreed.
