Punishment Fits The Crime

My best girl friend who I'll call Rachel dated a guy a couple years ago who was one of her douchiest boyfriends ever. I'll call him jon. All around not a bad guy, but unfortunately had a homophobic hint to him, and had a tendency to become a huge asshole when he drank. So it's not a huge surprise that when the three of us were at her place one night having drinks, things went south. It came out that Rachel and I breifly used to be friends with benefits before she met him. Things turned hostile from there, and he threw a bunch of homophobic slurs at me. Rachel is absolutely not one to tolerate that type of thing . She was quick to stand up for me like any good friend would.

Jon was apologetic about it later after sobering up, but Rachel was pissed and told him that a simple "sorry" doesn't cut it. He insisted he didn't mean it, but didn't know how to make it right.
