Conventionally Married I Also Live With My Lesbian Partner
I was born a lesbian in a very conservative home. Five girls meant we spent every day in girl world. We started helping at three, stirring the pot, helping set the table. Hand me downs meant pictures made it difficult to tell who was in the picture, that and all of us favor each other. Strong mom genes, we inherited her side of the family. We wore make up, shaved our legs, had our hair done the same way. At church the Pastor loved guessing what our name was.
When my sexual preferences went down the girl path I was cautioned, I was counseled, introduced to boys. Don't do that. Do what? You know, kiss girls.
Wedding season came and our tradition was that the four bridesmaids were sisters. One, two, three sisters fell, leaving me and our baby sister. Aren't you getting married? she asked. How do you tell your baby sister you just kissed a girl and marriage wasn't part of the equation? For clarification, I dated the boy next door to hide my girl crushes.
Trapped I found myself setting a wedding shower date with his Mother. My baby sister lined up as Maid of Honor and two pregnant sisters as bride's maids. The fourth, my number three sister filling out the wedding party. The wedding was on Saturday, the reception went on till past midnight. Wedding night at the Hyatt downtown. He was not amused, I told him again I wasn't going to have sex with him.
We woke up, he consummated the marriage, and we left for our honeymoon. We negotiated a one night on one night off routine. He made sure he got two nights worth on his day. By the time we returned I gave up trying to control how often. It became a nightly discussion, and he negotiated until he got his way. Five years later I delivered two kids, the last sister to bring grandkids home.
My lesbian life is in addition to, my lesbian lover and lesbian partner accepts me being married. He doesn't interfere with our quiet time. My kids are now in school, I'm working full time, me and my best friend and lover met at cooking school eight years ago. She lives with us. We both love to cook and we share duties in the kitchen, including cooking for the extended family. Kisses go unnoticed, as do holding hands. No one comments that our pajamas are in the same room, under the pillows on the bed. Now we are six sisters, not five.
