Remedy Is Best When Taking Personal Responsibility

I was in my second year of law school before I had sex. He was a high profile corporate attorney and I was interning for him. All the usual mix of power over your career, older man younger inexperienced woman, aggressive sexual advances. Was I at fault? I sued for harassment. My professor took the case.

Halfway through the arguments I told my 'lawyer', my professor, to drop the case. Not worth it. I was hot under the collar but now that I had cooled down, just drop it. I angered my professor and certain tag along activist women.

After it was over I asked him for an appointment. I was told to stay away. I tried to get him to talk to me outside the office. He told me I was harassing him. I went to his house, I told him I was pregnant. I wanted him to know straight from me. That's all, I was pregnant.

If he wanted to provide child support, I could use it. If he wanted to be a part of his child's life I welcomed it. If he wanted me in his life I welcomed it.

I graduated from law school. I got child and 'spousal' support, no questions asked. I dated him. Until I was ready to get married. In my opinion that should have been the whole issue. Nothing positive was going to come from suing him. I'm sorry I let myself be influenced by a lobby of interested parties. Me, our son, are best served by his taking responsibility for us.
