Funding My Science Degree With Sex, And What It All Had Led Too.
It's not much of a story, but i was for a long time in the 'oldest profession' throughout collage, which i'm sure you ladies and gents know what i mean.
Climbing into peoples spaces and giving them some time in paradise, which I did it out of desperation for money so i could afford to pay my bills, and receive my education for my degree in science.
I took a few years doing this, and became rather bitter and secretly man-hating in the whole time i slept with pigs for my paychecks... Some clients had even went as far as to try to get out of payment with bs, mooch off me for freebies, or outright assault me. I admit i fell for some of the tricks, but i wised up, and carried pepper spray and a few cheap self-defense weapons that i kept well hidden in my various wardrobes.
I hadn't expected how my reputation as a 'lady of the night' would taint me, which happened near graduation, and i could never get work in my town, and was disowned by my family, who ironically said 'they'd always love me no matter what i became', and friends either abandoned me or a few that stayed became perverts. Lousy asses.
The few months left in town, i used to begin a process of readying to move across country. Fresh start, a place to where my science degree would be respected and not mocked due to how i earned funding for it.
Last thing i expected...
was one of my clients from my days of an escort to care about me.
The man, about my age, who i dismissed as one of the pigs i served to make cash during my time escorting, was one of the few who wished me farewell. It didn't mean much at the time, as i didn't realize it, but after a month i remembered he was one of the nice ones. Not once did he hire me for anything sexual, just instead chatting and treating me to paid dates with no strings attached, and yet insisted on treating me like a human, even wishing me happy birthdays on fake days. I just thought he was just a wallflower, but i kind of missed him as i had my thoughts drift to him.
I just shrugged my memories of him off as me being naive and having wanted to know he was a friend. I still called him 'Wallflower' to remind myself he could have just been another guy wanting into my skirt, though his real name was Micheal
Four years, i just live my new life, and i didn't much care anymore, instead looking purely to the future. I was still wary of men even where i now lived, but things changed as i had to go back to the state i grew up in, rather ironically, for a meeting involving my job. I dreaded it due to how bad the parting was with so many people.
... Turns out no one remembered me, and my parents made peace with what i was doing, and apologized [to my surprise] the inevitable moment they found out i was in town.
It felt weird, but it was nice, not being shamed, but the one guy remembered me... 'Wallflower' as i called him, as i first saw him at the store... i died almost of embarrassment, thinking he was going to fawn over me, thinking i was still an escort.
I was wrong.
'Wallflower' Micheal had genuinely offered me a welcome back, and treated me as a friend. He himself had recently been going to collage to follow a career similar to mine, inspired by my few details of my life i let drip through that he heard years ago during our 'dates' years ago.
He even treated me with respect.
I could not help but genuinely smile, like at least in spite of things back then, that i at least inspired something.
Couldn't help but grab a drink and chat with Micheal at a local bar, as he was interested in what i'd been doing in my absence, and we talked a lot. At some point, we went into talk of years ago, at some point when we run out of other things to say, he just comes out a bit more awkwardly and says that he actually initially hired me for these escort dates as he was going through a rough patch and felt empty in life, but he developed feelings for me in that time, but never acted on them since he knew i'd probably have rejected him. I think the liquor made it easier for that exchange to happen.
It was... warming, knowing it wasn't what i thought. I knew he couldn't be lying either, as he seemed so much more... vibrant in personality than i remembered from those years before. It was rather sweet, in a retroactive way that painted the past a bit differently
After all of this, i actually couldn't help but ask him back to my place that i was staying at for my work-related trip, and spent a day chatting, and it became filled with making love, not some paid BS, but the real thing i no doubt needed all these years.
This all happened five years before this time of writing, but we became close, and stayed in touch when i had inevitably left town.
Just six months ago prior to this writing, he proposed. He's a really sweet man, and i couldn't say no.
It feels nice, knowing that what i felt were bad years, weren't for nothing.... i wish i could portray what i felt or meant in this writing, or the deeper things, but i know the meanings now.
