Being The Woman In The Equation

I was an auditor for a company that bought a business in Kano, Nigeria. As part of post acquisition due diligence an audit was required. I was next in line for an international trip. A day after the trip was scheduled a man walked into my office and told me I wasn't going. He was the head of security and women weren't allowed in those jurisdictions. I appealed, got a hearing with the regional vice president. No, you are not going. It's not up for discussion.

Several months later I was called upstairs with my boss. An acquisition was imminent and I was picked to go over and be present at the closing. In Bern, Switzerland. Leaving on the company plane the next morning. Nervous and lost in the transaction, I was given a file to read on the way over. The closing took a couple of days, I had to sign off on each of the sections that the right people signed, basically a witness.

After the closing the VP told me we would stop in Paris and then Rotterdam. We would fly commercial as the company plane was sent back to New York. Paris was hurried, with evenings at restaurants, moments for the Louver, the Eifel Tower. A walk at night along the Champs Elysée and poking my head into Givenchy and a walkthrough a department store. Molesting I called it, why was he m****ting me like that. In Rotterdam he gave me a bonus, diamond studs.

The quid pro quo was getting close and personal. He spoiled me, now I was to spoil him. After ten days with him it wasn't hard to give into him. Whether it is worth it isn't the question. Being invited into his room was a surprise, but I welcomed it. I was ready to be him. Not for one second did I hesitate or think against it. He wanted me with him, I was going to be with him, wearing only my new studs. His thank you, and my you're more than welcome summed it up.
