A New Boyfriend Who Is Real Nice To Me

After my divorce I went from retail to retail and landed a job at a j*welry store. A man who worked close by walked in every now and then and looked around, he was always nice to me and never interfered if a customer was there.

Then one day he walked in when a drunk, or high, customer was bothering me. He was abusive with his language, I was scared to open the display cabinet. The man came over to me and asked me if I was ready. The dunk mouthed off to him and he stood his ground and told him I was his girlfriend and no one, no one, talked to his girlfriend like that.

The drunk left and he asked me to lock the doors and put up the closed sign. Drunks like that man came back. We had the security hang out close, and when the drunk returned he was escorted away from the store. My friend told me politely I couldn't work there any more, the drunk was never going to leave me alone.

My friend put me up at his lake house, checked in every day. On the weekend he told me I was nice, nice girls needn't work in public places. If it was ok with me, I should get a more appropriate job where drunks can't hurt me.

He had me work for him, take care of him personally. He needed me, my affection. His affections were intoxicating, nothing married girls ever experience. But he wanted my affections. Affections, nothing funny on my part.

He was nice to me, really nice, really. Helped me get on my feet, a job downtown. No drunks. Not retail. And when he really wanted to be nice to me, well married girls never do those things. He says it's because I'm his girlfriend. If I wasn't his girlfriend he wouldn't be that nice to me.

I'm glad you found someone who is nice to you.

Just finding someone "nice" these days seems nearly impossible.

Please ignore the comment above. Clearly this jerk is jealous of you and your new partner. Perhaps the person who posted above is your foaming at the mouth drunk you mentioned in your story.

Go live life. Be happy. Be fulfilled. Fall in love
