I Obey And Do What I'm Told Because It Pleases Me To Obey My Husband
I am going to say that I have gone straight. I have been married for 22 years, to the same man. It was consensual, to use that expression. I was anything but a docile obedient girl. I was expelled from my high school for manifestations against the wrongs of the world. I finished at a small no name school. I went to college in Washington state and became involved with the LGBT+++++ movement. I screamed and yelled from the statehouse stairs. I became involved with a 33 year old lesbian from Oakland and ended up in the most toxic relationship of my life, unable to leave. I ran away one day when I taped the strike plate on the door and the door didn't lock. I was 24.
Broke, without papers, I hid out wherever I could. I became homeless and stateless. I was propositioned for sex and for every kind of illegal substances. I didn't have money, but I could not resort to prostitution. I stole instead. I met a woman, a social services woman, who worked with lesbians on the street. With her help I was able to get back to my parents. I was 25, I had not seen them since I was 19. They didn't know I had become a lesbian, they thought of me as a wild child.
My father told me the first day I was there, that he expected me to get married and learn to behave and do what I was told. My degree is and was useless and I got a job working for a friend of my mothers, she had a small interior design business and I helped with the front desk and the paperwork, and sometimes she took me on jobs. Through her I met my husband.
The first time I went out with him I asked if I had to do what I was told, to obey him. He looked at me and told me that disobedience wasn't becoming, if I wanted the relationship to last more than one date. I asked why he needed me to obey him. He told me disobedience was the root of all evil. It's the way the world works. We obey the police, we obey our teachers, then obeying a man should be easy. Said the man.
We dated for a while, several months, he met my parents. One night I overheard my father tell my husband, before we were married. Just fuck her and put her out of her misery. In spite of that, I let my father walk me down the isle. I said I DO to all the questions. I asked my husband if he needed me to swear to obey him. He said as long as I obeyed him I didn't have to swear to it, just don't disobey.
I don't disobey, I argue till I'm blue in the face, and when he agrees with me I win a point and when he doesn't I don't disobey him. He wins the point. I use his name and I go by Mrs. at the school where my children study. Late one night, really late one night, after his second round with me, I told him that he should know that I was a lesbian in college. I was just as quick to assure him that I wasn't a lesbian any more. I was his wife.
Whether it's a time factor, or because I spend my life with a man, or because you just get older, I am pretty obedient. I do what I'm told. My father is proud of me, I finally met a man who could control me. I sometimes can't help but remember those years in Oakland with that woman. She never loved me, or anyone for that matter. She was a butch deviant that is what she was. What is sad is that I have met lesbian girls that are attracted to that kind of woman. Talk about doing what you are told and being obedient. Being obedient to my husband is easy peasy.
I think that some of it is all about men. My son who is fourteen is the boss of his sisters and he bosses me around. I hold my breath and sometimes I tell him not to talk to his mother like that, but more often than not I obey him.
