One Night I'll Always Remember
My daughter turned 19. On this date, give or take a couple of days, nine months earlier 19 years ago I was at my cousin's wedding in Florida. I woke up in bed with a married friend of the groom. I was wet back there, messy, cum. I walked the most disgusting walk of my life to the bathroom. I had leakage down my legs. I had to get in the shower. He was passed out, I got dressed and tip towed back to the room I shared with my mother. It was five a.m. We had a flight at nine. My belly was on fire, my ovaries were working overtime, I knew I was pregnant. My life as I knew it was over.
The pregnancy changed everything. College was over. I was encouraged to contact the father, for child support. He showed up with his wife. I don't know 'how I could do it'. What I was was pregnant. At least everyone was in consensus, and his wife was the most vocal. All babies are welcome. No abortion. She would quit work, work? on getting pregnant, stay home, be a home based mother. What was she talking about? this was my baby.
I had the baby, my daughter Meredith, I breast fed for 12 weeks as agreed, she showed up with her mother to take my baby to be her daughter. I never cried so much, my baby was being torn from my arms. I had signed for her to be the adoptive mother. Now reality set in. It was a scene. I held my baby to my heart. She stood over me, 'then you have to come too', we are going home.
I moved with my baby, I nursed till she was nine months old, by then she had a new baby half brother and I was enrolled in school. I got a degree in finance while she made babies. I sat at the breakfast table and she said over her shoulder. You have your degree, it's probably time you had another baby, book end so to speak.
Now my daughter is 19, she has four younger siblings, her babyest sister, and three middle brothers. I went to work when my youngest turned three and was in preschool, my partner in life, her other mother, has been a full time mother. No one is going to destination weddings, Spring break, backpacking summers. These children have tracking chips and two overprotective mothers. Birthday celebrations aside, she is still my baby girl. In spite of her father's protestations. These are our babies. They aren't having sex till they are married.
