I've Seen Light And I've Seen Darkness, Living In The Light Is Better
I found love in a bottle. It took everything I had. My job, my wife, my children. On the couch at my cousin's mostly passed out I heard a TV commercial by Billy Graham. Not being religious I shrugged it off. But a buzz was put in my ear, what about hope. It changed my life.
AA was the tool, acceptance of my addiction. None, zero, nada became my motto. Until one day I woke up sober. Then another and another. A man stood beside me, he gave me comfort. I learned he was gay, interesting but not important. I learned he cared. That was important.
Today, I have a new wife, I get to share raising her children. I have a job I've not been fired from, we live in a small home in a not so hot neighborhood. If anyone, anywhere, helped me come to terms with my addiction, it's this woman. She gave me hope, when I most needed it.
I know this site is about adult confessions, well I'm an adult, and this is my confession. I could not have whipped this Demon, without help, by those who care, without hope there is nothing.
