It Was Never Meant To Be Like This

I was 13 and my mother asked me if I wanted kids. I said yes and I was sent to an all girls school. I went on to a girls college. After I came home with my teaching degree I had to find a husband. I had all the prerequisites.

I turned twenty five and nothing. Thirty and mothing. Thirty five and nothing. Thirty seven for my birthday I went to lunch with my boss at a nice restaurant. The conversation turned to personal matters. Why I never married. You're kidding, you're a virgin? I didn't go back to work until I wasn't a virgin.

My boss always wanted an office girl, maybe ten years younger, but at fifty three beggars can't be choosers. It was 'torrid', 'erotic', 'glorious', 'prohibited', 'extramarital'. Not being a virgin was liberating. His wife took offense. Divorce was in the offing. Twenty eight year marriage over an office fling. A far cry from my thirteen years self, wanting children.

I did have a child at forty with rent-a-husband. He, what his name is I don't know or care, is unaware that he was set up.

I'm actively sexual, men want me now. Older men for sure. I make decent money, renting myself out. My mother would not approve.
