First And Foremost I Am His Wife
Not fully understanding I was lesbian I got married right out of college and transferred to live in Malaysia with my husband. It was quite customary for women to make babies during these postings, and I was one of those women. When we returned State side we had three kids.
Back in the world I got a part time work for a small financial services company. I met Andrea there and one thing led to another and we had an office affair. While I was overseas women talked and a girl affair was always a better option than an affair with a male. No pregnancies, for one. It was also considered fun.
When I casually mentioned the affair to my husband he was upset. I thought I wasn't cheating, no male involved. Breaking up with Andrea was very hard. Only then did I realize how emotionally I was involved. For the first time I had to seriously contemplate I was gay.
My husband fixed the problem, he accepted a posting in Saudi Arabia. Women didn't drive, they couldn't leave without their husband's permission. In one leap I was back in the middle ages. But the Saudi women were happy, they didn't mind. Why would you even think of leaving without your husband's permission?
The whole order of things took a lot to become accustomed to. Our next posting Bern, Switzerland. Then London. Then back to South East Asia to Singapore. At each posting I had a girl girl relationship. By the time we rotated back home I'd had a half dozen girl affairs. My husband didn't mind when I was overseas, but at home verboten, prohibited, no way.
High school was our reason for coming home. Andrea was still around, we see each other behind my husband's back. I'm not proud of it, but denying my lesbian side is like asking an alcoholic not to drink. I hate cheating, but I emphasize no other man has ever gone where my husband has gone. It's only with girls, and it's hugely emotional, sex happens but being lesbian is emotional first, sex second, and if I can, never ever has a dick crossed my husband's threshold.
