I Am Now In The Full Swing Of My First Lesbian Affair

As a recent college graduate I gravitated to California, San Francisco, but in a dump in Oakland. I got a job working part time for a small gallery. I was so excited to meet women, women like me. Women who liked women. Women like me. And so on, all about meeting women like me. Except I never met a woman like me.

I come from a Midwest upbringing with five sisters and two brothers, a Catholic home. I was the always the oddball but my family always treated me like one of the family. I heard things like 'this too shall pass'. "Give it time'. 'One day you are going to wake up and there will be Prince Charming'. But no Prince Charming, it was always Mary or Sue or Pricilla Hampton. Talk about about showers in junior high, all those pretty girls. Every girl is pretty in the shower, I learned that lesson. I had posters of girls on my walls, I talked about girls at the dining room table. Give it time, they told me, just give it time, this too shall pass.

I went to the local college, lived at home. No college experience, just a part time job. I wasn't different than my siblings, no way seven kids were going to be sent off to college for the college experience. I studied business. Some girls at the college, who mostly all had part time jobs, liked to party and I partied with them. One in particular, I was beyond hope then, just seeing her walk into the classroom. One day she said that she wanted to talk. Oh hurray. She told me that I creeped her out, the way I looked at her. And to make sure that I got the message, 'I'm not gay (creep)'.

Well, with my degree I went to California to mee the woman of my dreams. I met women all right, but not the woman of my dreams. Not even close. The constant bitching, the constant anger, it turned me off. Then one day at the gallery my boss, named HELEN, she said that she had this invitation for a Spa day at this place in the Wine Country and if I wanted to go with her. We drove out and in the car she got me to confess and she told me that making choices was part of growing up. My choices were poor choices, find a man she said. Men make better lovers, better life partners, she said. Grow up she said.

At the Spa it was about meditating, about massage therapy, it was about sitting with your legs crossed. HELEN told me that if I really wanted to be that way then she would show me what I thought I was missing. HELEN showed me, in a way I never expected. At the Spa, she showed me, now get naked and just lie there, don't even think about anything. And she used her fingers up and down my spine, in the crack of my butt, around my nipples and finally she touched my clit. I don't recommend this for any woman, she told me. It's a false way of life. A woman friend yes, a woman boss yes, but a WOMAN no. She did elicit an orgasm from me.

We drove home in silence. She drove me to my apartment. She frowned deeply. I would never let my daughter live here. She told me the next day that she had a friend who needed someone to split expenses. An older woman, I would like her well enough. She lived in a two bedroom condo and she rented the room to me for what I was already paying. Except much nicer and much better neighborhood. I'm a lesbian she told me. HELEN says you think you are a lesbian, is this true? Yes ma'am.

I found out after living there, and being prodded by HELEN that being a lesbian fell in the realm of poor life choices. Of course HELEN is a lesbian if you haven't figured that out. Except she would never choose that for her daughter. I went back to the Midwest, cold in the winter, got a job working with an insurance agency. I met a guy there, John or something like that, and he was enthusiastic and I decided that I would make a choice with my head and not with my clit. I married John and now I'm living the life.

Remember that girl from high school, Pricilla Hampton. Well guess what, she's a lesbian too. And well it takes two to tango and now that we are older and we both have families and responsibilities we get along wonderfully. It's cheating. But I've waited so long. Pricilla Hampton, who would have thought?
