Hid Our Relationship For 5 Years
I'm married to the girl of my dreams - the only girl I've truly loved in my life. She's one of my best friends little sisters - 2 years my junior. The established lie is that we met again when we both went to the same university by chance and a relationship blossomed out of knowing few people and being friends from before. That lie keeps us on the right side of everyone - my friend is still my friend, our parents approve, it's just one of those things.
The thing is that actually Sian and I have been together in secret since I was 15 and she was 13. It started with silly childish things like staring contests that grew into opportunities to kiss each other, but we both developed strong feelings pretty much straight away. We had to be so careful of being discovered, but when I used to sleep over at my friends house we'd spend all night whispering and making out in their living room when everyone else was asleep, developing little codes to be able to say that I loved her in front of her family whilst at dinner and stuff like that.
Intimacy was hard - my parents went on holiday and I smuggled Sian to my house as other friends lived on my street each day. A week of being able to openly be together was incredible - we lost our virginities to each other that week - but other than that, it was furtive meetings after school in my old car, or at a place near the river that no one else we knew went to.
It was so hard when I left for university, as we were away from each other for so long, but it was so nice to be able to be open about her being my girlfriend at last. By then we had phones so we could keep in touch, and we were both overjoyed when she was accepted onto a degree course at my university. From the day she arrived we were official in and around Uni, and then we gradually came out of the closet to friends from home and finally to her family.
Finally I was able to openly be with my girl, we were secretly engaged almost immediately and then formally when she graduated, married with our first on the way less than a year later.
I just can't believe that we pulled it off!
