Grandpa To The Rescue
The 'girls' moved in over the weekend. U Haul, and friends. All women, a coven of lesbian witches. My wife noticed them struggling with an armoir. Go help them before someone gets hurt.
They didn't need help. They didn't want help. Someone was going to get hurt. So I did what I do best. Raised my voice, took over, back in command. The grunts resisted, called me names, not one set of balls among them, they did what I ordered. They got moved in.
I took the opportunity to run a safety check, rebooked up the washer and dryer, rebooked up the water to the fridge. I strapped down the bookcase in the den, realigned the door on the grandma armoir I helped them move in.
The support group gone, my wife had the 'girls' over for pizza dinner on their first night. They talked, I listened, opened another bottle of wine. When they got up to leave the short one put her arms around my neck, 'you remind me of my grandpa' she said.
Call me a handyman, the old neighbor, the man next door. The 'girls' try to keep up, frustrated about how I did this or that. Cook for me I tell them, you do what you do best, let me take care of those things you need a man for, around the house. And 'Grandpa' is sweet of you, love to be of help.
