Role Playing Extended To Real Life
In a round table discussion in Sociology we talked about the Leave it to Beaver women's role. I had to watch reruns. Anyway, the project was to adopt that role for seven days, dress, hairstyle, and deference to Ward Cleaver. We were randomly paired with a guy in class, the guys had to adopt the role of Ward Cleaver.
A week, we could do that.
Dressing up, homemaking, preparing the evening meal, the dress, high heels. And Ward, and his newspaper while June fixed dinner. Serving the table, picking up the table, washing the dishes. It wasn't hard for me, cooking and cleaning were a way of life for me. At the end of the week I was happier than I had been in a long time. I loved playing my role.
My Ward did a good job too, he got into the role. After the week was over, we tried to get back to normal. I decided I would cook for him one more time. I dressed up, played my role, and when the dishes were in the dishwasher, I came out with nothing on but an apron. It was time for Ward to show June he was the man of the house.
I'm married now to a real life man of the house, and I am a real life housewife. I love my role, my place in the grand scheme of things. I'm June morning, noon and night. My husband was quite surprised when I treated him to June asked with nothing on but an apron. My real life Ward knows his role, his place in the grand scheme of things. He's on top and I'm under him with my legs open.
