Leaving Dad's Side Was Difficult

I grew up in a conventional home, Dad owned a construction business, Mom ran the house snd the back office of the business. We, three sisters, never lacked for anything. Pretty spoiled girls. It never crossed anyone's mind to cross daddy, that includes my Mom. His word was law, my Mom held his hand when we walked into Church, and us three ducklings followed behind.

When I went off to college, the world was my oyster, only I was scared to open it. Football games, fall bonfires, boys putting their hands where they didn't belong. I went 'cold', boys eeked me out. Don't touch me! became my motto, don't you dare! or I will tell my father. Once I had set myself off limits I found plenty of girl things to do. I graduated went back home, my sisters were in college, my middle sister confided in me when she gave up her 'cherry'. I went to work for my father.

One day like any other he started a conversation that got creepy. What is it with you? Are you lesbian? I got a talk that left me trembling, when you're 13 a boy getting fresh with you is one thing, when you're 23 and you haven't been laid it's another. Daddy, how can you say that? If you don't put out a baby you've failed, as sure as if you had never been born. Get busy.

By the by I met 'Ol Fred, the older boy of our neighbor. He came back from his second tour as a Ranger. He wasn't one for blowing hot air, he went for the jugular. He didn't let go, he didn't back down, he had one thing on his mind and I found out the hard way. The wedding was a celebration, now she'll learn that even a princess has to put up and shut up when the king commands.

Along came a series of babies, along with a new name and new address. Walking into Church, holding his hand, and our little ducklings following.
