I Married A Stripper And We're Still Married

A couple of weeks before graduation a couple of buddies and me went to Las Vegas to blow off steam. My first time, and I was broke. I stood around while my buddies played blackjack. A waitress came up and gave me a card, for a strip joint. No cover charge with the card. We went there after midnight, this tome the waitress was topless, she assured me they were all original. She also gave me a beer, on the house so I didn't look useless. My buddies were at a booth with a table dance. She pointed, not original.

In a few exchanges she mentioned she was from Red Deer. My idiot look told her she needed to clarify, Canada. No papers, she whispered, she needed papers. Before two in the morning I had agreed to marry her, so she could get papers. When I returned to school I was married. Marie, her real name.

Six months later she showed up on my doorstep, we had agreed to stay posted in case the authorities came looking. She had applied for a green card and was rejected. Now we 'had' to be married. Pictures, bank account, address, everything. We used a lawyer, expensive for me at the time. A few months later she got her green card in the mail. Across the breakfast table we talked about options, she made more than I did in Las Vegas.

We decided to give it a try. That's why we're married.
