Modern Family, Our Way
When I was a college freshman I lost my virginity and thought I got pregnant. I was so scared I peed my pants. He was supportive but told me if I was pregnant then we were getting married. We eloped and got married with a JP in the next county. The JP asked if this is what I wanted, I told him I was pregnant and he declared us man and wife. Three weeks later I thought I was dying and the emergency room told me I had a miscarriage. After a D&C I was sent home.
I kept everything from my parents. He graduated and left me in school. When I was a junior he told me had screwed up and got a nurse pregnant. Without checking with me he married her too. Only afterwards did he ask if we could undo our marriage. One last fling and I got pregnant. I took the semester off after our daughter was born, my Mom helped so I could finish school. We did not undo the marriage.
After graduation, I took my year old baby and went to see his other baby mama. Surprise and hello, this is your daughter by another mother, I made myself comfortable until he came home to face his baby mamas. I wanted him to choose, he wouldn't. Technically she isn't married, I am. She had changed her name and lived with her husband.
She lives in her house, in her town. I live in my house, my town. I didn't change my name. The 'babies' carry their father's name, he splits his time with his two families. We live thirty miles apart. Distance work helps, but if not we would do something. I won't say we are bffs, but we aren't enemies either.
