One Must Choose But Such Choices Come At A Price

An old man once told me, don't dop your pen in the company ink. All around me the Friday night hours, parties on company dimes, strip poker on the company plane, executives enjoying their sweet souls I. My mistake was talking with Anna, my new assistant. Getting to know her. Falling for her.

When the opportunity presented itself, it was quick without ceremony. She told a friend, who told a friend, and the word was out. I was called in by one of those that watches the girls play strip poker. He asked me if it was true. I said yes. To choose, quit my job or fire Anna.

I asked Anna to find another job. Anna left and I never heard from her again.

Many years later I was then in charge of international business development. On a flight on the company plane the girl who was there to serve offered herself to me. A g*ft she said from my old boss, in recognition of good work. I refused her advances, although I didn't want to. I thought of Anna. Another test.

Today I have only memories of Anna, from when I was twenty five. She is still young and beautiful in my mind.

My dad told me "Don't shit where you eat".
