The Rules I Live Under Aren't For Everyone But The Rules Benefits Me

First our family isn't Arab or Indian, we are ethnically Hispanic of European decent. We live in Mexico City now, we are originally from Caracas. My grandmother married my grandfather after a public engagement. The marriage was arranged to make sure the family money wasn't taken by some undeserved person. It was an accommodation. My grandmother did her part, and had two children. My aunt and my mother.

My father married my mother out of a sense of obligation. He had sex with her when she was younger. He never really let her be someone else's girlfriend. He married her out of a sense of obligation. My mother married him because she could never be with another man. My father kept a concubine, she was left behind when they left Caracas. My father can't forgive himself. My mother lets it stay untouched.

I was told a month ago that I needed to marry a man for the good of the family. A Mexican national to blend his family and mine. My parents are selling me into his family, and my father will become a partner in one of his father's business. One daughter isn't too much to pay to set his business back up. My father's business in Caracas was construction.

My father married my mother because he had sex with her when she was too young. I'm getting married to a man I met last month. Maybe he will have sex with me, maybe he won't and already has a concubine. Either way, like my grandmother the price is two legitimate children within the marriage, more if a boy isn't born. My grandmother didn't quite live up to her end of the bargain.

Fortunately I'm not sex driven. I'm more of a comfortable and social woman. When I marry him I will do my duty, it's up to him to do his. It would be nice if he likes me and I like him. It's not necessary for him to love me. This isn't one of those marriages. It's an accommodation for the families.
