I Missed The Hints

Years ago, I got dumped by a woman because (as it turns out) I treated her too innocent, when she actually wanted a man who would inspire her "inner slut" to come out.

Has this happened to many other guys by the way? I find it hard to believe I'm the only one.

She dropped hints, but I missed them by a million miles. I'd have gladly treated her like a slut if I'd have recognized she was craving that.

She's kinky as hell these days, for another man who was apparently better at reading her hints than I was.

I wish them a happy life together, opportunity lost but lesson learned.

Disclaimer- I am really hesitant about sending this reply, as I, in no way want to encourage anyone to be more aggressive and misread a woman's signs! Men in doubt should never "go for it" and risk sexually abusing or causing harm a woman!
So, here goes. I think every guy can look back and wonder if "the one that got away", left because we were too hesitant! We all have driven home with blue balls, wishing our date had ended more passionately. Men are conditioned, and rightly so, not to push things too far. To be certain we get consent. Not to play when she's had a bit too much to drink. Not to assume she wants sex, simply because we do. It must be this way, however.
It would have been easier for you and every guy, if women would say, "I'd like to try something different" or "you can pull my hair, if you like", anything to open a dialogue.
The only thing we can do is to teach our sons to be open and respectful and not play mind games or coerce her in any way. But, men also have to be confident enough to discuss sex openly and honestly and not be embarrassed about discussing sexual ideas. I certainly never have been confident enough. Even today it is awkward.
