One Moment And My Life Has Changed In A Direction I Can't Believe

On a trip to Boca my wife was stung by a ray. The wound got infected and she had her leg amputated. She became reclusive, hid from me. It took months for a protheses to be made and fitted, for her to learn to use it.

My fiftieth birthday came and she told me my present was in our room. A twenty year old Brazilian girl, more woman than I had ever been that close to. My wife insisted, a whole woman not one who was incomplete. She insisted, I complied. I felt sorry for the girl.

My wife is distant, I can only see her with her prostheses, in pants. She no longer sleeps in my bed, we live like brother and sister. The young Brazilian woman now has her papers, she lives with us. She studies English, and other courses. She reports to my wife when I'm not in the mood.
