Being Gay Is Permanent, Tolerating Gays Is Not

Back in the country where I was born and grew up in being gay was a crime. Most gay men were never bothered, but being gay was a liability, a traffic stop and gay you went to jail. I moved.

But that was a very long time ago. I am still careful, I am not public. I meet a partner and disappear. I spend days looking over my shoulder.

Today gay is displayed aggressively. One day it will be wrong again. History repeats itself. Be careful.
