In Home Nurse
I am an in home care nurse for about 20 patients. It basically equates to 5 per day on a rolling basis. I have been doing this type of work since high school.
Mark is a 58 year old who requires care due to a chronic issue. One day he was different. He was more outgoing and a bit touchy feely. I told him to stop and he literally blurts out, I need relief. I told him no. We finished our visit and I left. A few days later he was angry when I showed up. He was resistant to treatment and basically wasn’t in the mood for anything. It occurred to me what the issue was so we talked about it. I was resistant but he just kept asking. We finished the visit and I left. The next time he would not let me enter his home. I left. I never returned.
Cary is 65 and has issues with his sugar. He needs some medicine when I visit. Occasionally, he will ask for a shower. This one day he got hard in the shower. As I cleaned him, he moaned. I took the wash cloth and some soap and gave him a good cleaning. A few seconds later he holds the door of the shower and yells. He shot his load all over the floor or the shower. I left that visit reeling and confused if I did that to him.
The next visit he asked for another shower. Again, he came all over the floor.
I have had others ask me to relieve them and I sometimes do it.
Am I a bad person for this?
