Small Town Everything, Lesbians Just Don't Flaunt It, We Adapted
After journalism school I got a job working for the PR department of the City. All the people there were small town people. I was too, but thought I was not, I had gone to school up East. In school I had learned a lot, not the least of it being that a girl can have fun, without a guy, just another girl. I liked girls, in that way. We got naked all the time, sometimes more than two of us, we had sex all over the place, sometimes outside sometimes in a public space like the library. We wanted to be caught, and made an example of, to push for women's right to be lesbians.
Come to think of it when I returned home and went to work for the city I had lots of experience having sex with a girl, but had zero experience having sex with a guy. That would change. The guy didn't give a rat's ass about me being a lesbian. He really didn't. To him that was just what girls did without a boyfriend. But now, like it or not, I had a boyfriend and I had sex with a guy because of that. My boyfriend was a Deputy, the only one on the force. He was forty and had a couple of ex wives and several ex girlfriends. He went through women like a hot knife through butter. And I wasn't any different. Except I intended not to be a throwaway.
I was formally made his wife at 26 and he was 42. His ex wives came to the wedding out of spite and a couple of his ex girlfriends who also worked for the city. I got a lot of advise. I said then that if he messed around I would cut his balls off. Short and simple. And I had the balls to do it. Well, I didn't really, but you have to brag a little. It was a year after getting married that I first met Cecilia. She worked for the local paper and I was the PR girl and lo and behold love blossomed. Except that I was married and my husband didn't find that funny. He put an end to it, or so he thought. As a Detective he was always trying to figure out how I did it, where went, what we did. But he never 'caught' us doing it. We did it in the basement of city hall, among the boxes and boxes of files. Two lesbians getting it on. It was funny, but not comfortable, but my husband never went down there to find us.
My husband didn't give me a divorce, he went the other way and 'cemented' me. Losing me to a woman was the worst thing possible. He heard all the reasons why he had to give me up, but he didn't. Like I said, he 'cemented' me. Tied me down. I wasn't getting away. He couldn't stand the idea of me leaving him for a woman. Cecilia slowly came out of the shadows and my husband had to swallow hard and accept it. We had an 'open' agreement. I would stay and I would agree to get pregnant. But he had to allow me to be with Cecilia. I got pregnant as I promised and had his first child. I was 28. That was our deal.
Cecilia and me did not go around flaunting it. We got along wonderfully and the city got good press and as I had more babies. My husband this time was intent on not wasting time, and taking advantage of the fact that I was a good baby maker. I wish I could say that he understood why I had to be with Cecilia, for all his detective work, he never did understand fully that me and Cecilia were a couple, 'married' to each other. Cecilia was older and we talked a couple of times about just breaking the marriage, but as I said he had tied me down with kids and he cemented me to him. And I wasn't a throwaway. And I wasn't an ex anything.
