I Married A Neanderthal, But He's My Neanderthal Now

After a surprise marriage in Las Vegas to a coworker during a convention I faced my fate. He insisted on engaging in sex, not me, I wanted out. But he won, and I woke married and consummated. I flew home a married woman. And to a stranger as his wife.

I'm rule oriented and insisted on rules of engagement, he is a fly by the seat of his pants. I earned a lot less than him, but still had more savings than him. He had a messy apartment whereas mine was kept, decorated and nice. Moving him into my space was like bringing in a dog off the street. But I was going to be the wife, and he was going to be a husband, whether he wanted to or not.

My intimacy rule was simple. None. We were married, but not really. He had to prove himself. But that consummation moment was also a conception moment, so we were staying married, at least until after this baby was born.

Things went from bad to worse, his wild times weren't over. I nested, prepared my apartment to receive my son. Had I had a girl I may not of insisted on him staying, being a man and father. Intimacy happened, but it was never my call. He did not go to church with me, the closest I got was being dropped off and picked up. That and I did all the laundry. A woman's work is never done.

So here I am, fifteen years married, a fourteen years old boy and a nine year old sister. He earns near double what I earn, and I'm the Suma Cum Laude. I do all the laundry, and manage the house. He took my son deer hunting this last hunting season. He drives an F 250 and I drive a Honda Accord. He has a gun safe, I have a drawer for my j*welry. We have date night once a year, on our anniversary.

Intimacy is his call, the other way didn't work at all. A woman gets used to a man, his smell on the pillow. Once in a while when he wants something he helps with the dishes. For our fifteen year anniversary we are going back to Las Vegas.
