I Caught My Daughter Naked In Bed Clutching A Toy Moaning "Daddy!"

I heard noises emanating from my daughter's room last night. It sounded as if she was in distress, so I threw open the door.

She was naked, and clutching a large stuffed toy I'd given her a few years ago. As the stuffed toy rubbed against her, she moaned "Daddy!"

I was mortified. My daughter was a woman now. And her behavior was inappropriate.

I handed her her nightgown and told her to get dressed. I took the toy, which, I might add, was wet where it had come into contact with her private parts.

Making her feel ashamed of her urges would not have been the right parenting choice, so I simply told her to keep her nightgown on so she wouldn't catch cold, to moan as quietly as a mouse, and not to damage Mr. Cuddles the Bear's fur, since his care label says do not launder, do not dry clean, surface wash only.

Did I do the right thing?
