Some People Call Me Lucky, Others Call Me Names, I Did Love Him
A long time ago when I was a lowly poor 'Mexican', even though I'm Puerto Rico poor, a man paid attention to me. He was white, educated, well to do, had a corporate job. He said he liked me, my kind of pretty, honey colored skin, brown nipples, dark black pubes, etc. He invited me to a great big hotel, great big bed, room service, etc. He made me feel comfortable even if he was going to do things with me. He had what I wanted, I had what he wanted. I dreamed that night at the hotel was my honeymoon.
He wanted me more fit, he paid for a personal fitness girl at the gym. He wanted me educated, I enrolled in the city college. He wanted me to cook, a friend of mine helped me. He wanted nice clothes, my hair cut in a salon, a groomed pubic area, I went to a spa. He took me to nice restaurants, plays downtown, I met his friends, some also had young girlfriends, one was a professional ballet dancer.
Some men had 'boats', others had 'cars', others wore 'watches', nothing you can buy without appointments reserved for these men, and their wives, sisters, but not us. We had to go with them, if we wanted to go in.
This man was happy with me, even if his ex and daughters thought him ridiculous, I'm younger than his daughters. But when they had to they talked to me. 'Mexican' is what they called me, 'that Mexican girl'. If he married me, they were scared he would leave me everything.
One weekend we flew to Las Vegas and got married. No prenup, no conditions. A poor Mexican girl, and an older rich white man. His ex and daughters cried fraud, he wasn't in his right mind. No prenup, now they were in trouble. For each daughter he set up a trust fund, for his ex nothing, she already got her bite at the apple. The will was simple, the daughters got their trust funds, I got everything else.
The lawyers fought to reverse the will, but failed. I live a nice life, I try to respect his memory. I never treat his daughters wrong, I don't speak to his ex. For a while when I was young, a poor Mexican, a rich white man fell in love with me. I am his widow, I am not remarried.
