This happened this Saturday afternoon. I was helping an elderly woman down the hall replacing batteries in her smoke alarms. She thanked me and asked if I wanted a beer and I said sure. She told me that it’s hard being a senior citizen with a very limited income and that inflation has killed the quality of life. I felt bad for her.
