I Married My Daughter

I know it's unusual, but hear me out...

Her mom had left me. Her husband had left her. We were all alone. A man, and especially a father, is not supposed to show emotions or weakness. My daughter understood what I was going through. She saw how lonely I had become.

We had to move to a different, more open-minded state and we had to change her last name, but once we'd accomplished those steps, we were able to get married at city hall.

We are each other's everything. We look back at life before our marriage as lonely, aimless wandering. At least it brought us together!

why did you bother getting married?

Because we want other people, and institutions, to see that our love is real.

It is very easy to dismiss 1ncest, but we are proof that it can work. (We are not the norm, of course. We entered into our relationship freely, with full consent, as adults, and at that, only after experiencing normal marriages and seeing them fail.)

I also did not want our first child to be born out of wedlock.

Unusual would be one way to put it!
